Who we are
Mersey Solar Guard is a solar panel cleaning and maintenance business covering Liverpool and the North West. We are the data controller for the details you send us. You can contact us about your data at hello@merseysolarguard.co.uk.
What we collect
When you ask for a quote we collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode and anything you tell us in your message. If you message or call us, we keep the conversation and your number.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- If you book with us, to carry out the work, keep your maintenance record and send seasonal reminders. The legal basis is performing our contract with you.
We never sell your details or use them for unrelated marketing.
Who else handles it
- Web3Forms, which delivers the quote form to our email inbox.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there.
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts this website and keeps standard server logs.
- OpenStreetMap, which supplies the map on our home page. When the map loads, your browser fetches map images from OpenStreetMap’s servers, which see your IP address.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t become a booking are deleted within 12 months. Customer records are kept for as long as you are a customer and then for six years, as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you, object to how we use them, or ask us to stop. Email us and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
