Solar panel cleaning in St Helens
Keep your St Helens panels generating and your savings on track — with expert seasonal cleaning, health checks and performance reporting.
Local solar care
Solar panel care across St Helens
St Helens sits inland with plenty of tree cover around its estates and parks, so moss, lichen and leaf fall are the common problems, along with traffic film on homes near the East Lancashire Road.
Our pure-water reach-and-wash system lifts moss, lichen, pollen and bird mess without chemicals or scratching — and every visit includes a full health check and a before-and-after performance reading, so you can see the difference in your generation.
We also cover nearby areas including Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, Warrington, Wigan.
Why it matters
Dirty panels quietly cost you money
You invested thousands in solar to cut your bills for decades. But moss, dust, lichen, pollen and bird mess build up on panels and silently eat into output — and some manufacturer warranties and insurers expect panels to be maintained. Left alone, you lose generation and savings. Regular professional care keeps output up and gives you a dated record of the work.

What are dirty panels costing you?
Drag the sliders to your setup and see roughly how much generation — and money — soiling could be quietly costing you each year.
Estimates only. Based on a typical North West yield of ~850 kWh per kWp of installed solar, around 8% of generation lost to soiling between cleans (5–15% is common; more on neglected panels), valued at 25p per kWh. Your real figures depend on your system, roof and tariff — we confirm them on site.
What you get
More than a wash
Every visit is a clean, a health check and a performance report rolled into one.
Pure-water deep clean
Purified, deionised water and a soft reach-and-wash system — no harsh chemicals, no scratching, no residue. Safe for every panel and roof type.
Full solar health check
We inspect for hotspots, micro-cracks, lifting seals, loose mounts, failing optimisers and bird damage — catching faults before they cost you a panel.
Bird & pest proofing
Discreet mesh proofing to stop pigeons and pests nesting under panels — preventing mess, blocked gutters and damage to cabling.
Performance report & log
We record your generation before and after every clean, so you see the real kWh difference, and keep a dated log of every visit.

Frequently asked questions
How often should solar panels be cleaned?
It depends on your roof. Panels under trees, near the coast or popular with birds may need three or four cleans a year; an open, steeply pitched roof may need only one or two. We look at your array, recommend a frequency, and you can change it any time.
How much output do dirty panels really lose?
Soiling, moss and bird mess commonly cut generation by 5–15%, and more on panels left for years. A professional clean restores output to near its original level — you can usually see the jump in your inverter app the same day.
How do you clean the panels — will it scratch them?
We use a pure-water (deionised) reach-and-wash system with soft brushes. No detergents, no abrasives and no scratching — purified water dries spot-free and leaves nothing behind. It’s the standard method for cleaning solar panels.
Do you need to get on my roof?
Usually not. Our reach-and-wash poles clean most panels safely from the ground, so there’s minimal disruption and no need for scaffolding on a standard home.
Does cleaning affect my warranty or insurance?
Some manufacturer warranties and insurers expect panels to be maintained, so it is worth checking yours. We provide a dated digital report and maintenance log for every visit, so you have a record if you are ever asked for one.
